Heather’s Brownies - Heather Wolfe

1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup unsweet cocoa
½ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
 
 Frosting:
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons unsweet cocoa
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar

In a saucepan, melt a stick of butter. Remove from heat and add sugar, eggs, vanilla. Stir well. Add unsweet cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir well.
Spread into greased 8-inch pan. Bake at 350° F for 25-30 minutes.

Frosting: Combine butter, unsweet cocoa, honey, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Frost the brownies while they are warm.


Heather sent this recipe from South Africa — it is absolutely mouth watering and every time I bake the brownies I thank Heather in my mind for giving me the recipe.

Peanut Butter Brownies

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups self rising flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
 Icing
¼ cup milk
¼ cup peanut butter
¼ butter, melted
¾ cup confectioners sugar

Melt butter. Add peanut butter and all other ingredients. Pour into 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes.

To make the icing, combine all of the icing ingredients. Mix until smooth and pour on brownies while hot.

Wayne’s Brownies

1 cup sugar
¾ cup self rising flour
2 eggs
2 heaping tablespoons cocoa
½ cup Crisco oil
¾ cup pecans (optional)

Mix everything in a mixing bowl, stir mixture. You do not need to mix with a mixer.
Pour into a non-greased 8 x 8 inch Pyrex dish.
Bake at 350° F for 15 to 20 minutes (depending on how your stove cooks.)


My oldest son, Wayne, went home with one of his friends. When he came home he gave me this brownie recipe. Wayne said the friend’s grandmother cooked the brownies for them and they were the best brownies he had ever eaten.
